Z-DEVD-pNA is a caspase-3 chromogenic substrate with increased cell permeability. It is also a substrate for caspase-1,caspase-4 and caspase-7. λmax of pNA is 400nm. Z-DEVD-pNA is similar to Ac-DEVD-pNA except the N-terminus is blocked by a benzyloxycarbonyl (Z) moiety which may increase cell permeability.
