Electrophoretic mobility shift assays (EMSAs), also known as gel shift assays, provide a relatively straightforward and sensitive method for studying binding interactions between transcription factors and consensus DNA binding elements. For such studies, DNA probes are provided as double stranded oligonucleotides designed with 5’ OH blunt ends to facilitate labeling to high specific activity with polynucleotide kinase. These are constructed both with specific DNA binding consensus sequences for various transcription factors and as control or “mutant” probes in which one or more nucleotides mapping within the consensus binding site has been substituted.
I want to know this oligonucleotides is for all homologous Smad (such as smad1,smad2,smad3......). I need to detect the binding activity of Smad2/3,could I use this product? If no, what else product for Smad2/3 gel shift oligonucleotides product I can buy

Thank you for your question. This product, Smad SBE Gel Shift Oligonucleotides: sc-2603, is derived from the Smad Binding Element (SBE) as described in the literature (PMID: 16183640).
Based on more recent literature we found, the Smad SBE is suitable for binding activity of Smad 3 and Smad 4, "an 8-bp palindromic DNA sequence, GTCTAGAC, was identified as a Smad3 and Smad4 binding motif. In contrast to Smad3 and Smad4, Smad2 does not directly bind to DNA due to steric hindrance by an inserted sequence in the DNA-binding region." See the reference below for more information.
