    SEE ALSO...

SCML1 Antibody (8-RY28) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects SCML1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-SCML1 antibody (8-RY28) is available as the non-conjugated format. SCML1, or sex comb on midleg-like 1 (Drosophila), is a 329 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in regulating gene expression through involvement in Polycomb group (PcG) protein complexes, which maintain the transcriptional repressive state of genes across cell generations. SCML1 is primarily localized in the nucleus, contributing to vital processes such as testis development, spermatogenesis, and embryonal development. SCML1 shows highest expression in adult skeletal muscle, heart, and fetal liver, indicating importance in these tissues. SCML1 gene spans 18 kb, consists of 6 exons, and is located on human chromosome Xp22.13, with transcription occurring from telomere to centromere. SCML1 features one sterile alpha motif (SAM) domain and exists in three isoforms due to alternative splicing events, which may have implications for functional diversity and regulatory mechanisms in various biological contexts.

Can sc-135622: SCML1 (8-RY28) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

    Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-135622: SCML1 (8-RY28) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
