(R)-(-)-Phenylephrine hydrochloride is a phenylephrine (PE) and an α1-adrenoceptor agonist that promotes hypertrophic growth in the ventricular myocytes, and activates several MAPK signaling pathways. (R)-(-)-Phenylephrine hydrochloride is an activator of α1A-AR, α1D-AR and α1B-AR.
