(±) cis-2,5-Bis(3,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl)-1,3-dioxolane is the inactive enantiomer of the platelet-activating receptor (PAFr) antagonist (±) trans-2,5-Bis(3,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl)-1,3-dioxolane. Studies investigating PAFr mediatory behavior and the contribution of PAFr to synaptic physiology and long-term potentiation induction have employed (±) cis-2,5-Bis(3,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl)-1,3-dioxolane as a negative control for the active stereoisomer.
