QUICK LINKS

n-Dodecyl-beta-D-glucopyranoside (also referred to as Lauryl glucoside or LPG) is a highly purified non-ionic detergent for solubilization of membrane-bound proteins in their native state. It is used as an emulsifier, thickener, and foaming agent. n-Dodecyl-β-D-glucopyranoside is capable of forming micelles, which are small spheres that can encapsulate and protect oil-soluble compounds. In addition, it may act to be biodegradable.
