Can m-IgGκ BP-CFL 594 (sc-516178) antibody be used for fluorescent western blot? Thanks.

Thank you for your question. We have not yet tested any of our CruzFluor™ 594 (CFL 594) conjugates for Western blot detection. If you have the correct instrument for detection of this fluorescent wavelength in a Western blot, then yes our mouse IgG kappa binding protein (m-IgGκ BP) would be suitable. When should a mouse IgG Binding Protein be used instead of a conventional secondary antibody and what are the advantages of the binding protein?

Thank you for your question. We recommend using one of our exclusive Mouse IgG Binding Proteins in any application when you are using a mouse monoclonal primary antibody to detect your target antigen. The Mouse IgG Binding Proteins are designed to recognize a specific epitope on either the kappa or lambda light chain of mouse IgG. As a result, they are a highly specific reagent that provides strong signal with minimal background or non-specific binding, compared with a conventional secondary antibody. In addition, because they are not raised in a host animal, there is no lot-to-lot variation which is associated with conventionally generated secondary antibodies.

I have tested it with both chromogranin A (sc-393941) and PNMT (sc-393995) and they work fine for immunofluorescence of cryosections of mouse adrenal at 1/60 dilution of primary and 1/80 dilution of secondary. I had similar results for the FITC aquivalent (sc-516140).
