Datasheets

    • mouse IgG kappa binding protein (m-IgGκ BP) conjugated to fluorescein (FITC)
    • supplied at 200 µg in 0.5 ml volume
    • Strongly recommended alternative to conventional anti-mouse IgG secondary antibodies for Immunofluorescence (IF) and Flow Cytometry (FCM)
    • Suitable for binding to most, but not all, mouse IgGκ light chain immunoglobulins; not suitable for use with mouse monoclonal IgGλ light chain antibodies
    • Highly specific reagent that provides strong signal with minimal background and virtually complete elimination of lot to lot variation associated with conventionally generated secondary antibodies
    • While we continue to offer conventional fluorescein (FITC) conjugates (525 nm emission) for immunofluorescent cell staining, we strongly recommend CruzFluor™ 488 Binding Protein (525 nm emission) as an alternative and much superior reagent.
    • Mouse IgG binding proteins are recommended for some, but not all of our monoclonal antibodies. Product descriptions on our monoclonal antibody product pages will state if the Mouse IgG binding protein is the preferred detection reagent for that product.

Will this product (m-IgGκ BP-FITC: sc-516140), which is specific for kappa light chain, bind to your normal mouse IgG1 sc-3890. This normal mouse IgG1 does not specify kappa or lambda. Please clarify.

Asked by: DrDW
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-516140 will work with sc-3890. Another alternative is sc-516606 : https://www.scbt.com/p/normal-mouse-igg-alexa-fluor-488

I am planning to multicolor-immunostain cultured hippocampal neurons using sc-516140. Would sc-516140 cross-react the IgG kappa light chain of other species (e.g., goat, rabbit, guinea pig, chicken-IgY, etc) and cause non-specific signals?

Thank you for your question. It would be helpful if you could call us, allowing for a more interactive discussion of this and other related questions.

This protein bind to IgGk. Does this mean the tertiary structure of IgG.

Asked by: yapyap
Thank you for your question. This binding protein is specific against the kappa light chain of IgG, IgA and IgM antibodies, which is a small polypeptide subunit of those immunoglobulins.

Can the these antibodies be labeled with m-IgIK BP-FITC: sc-52219, sc-52221, sc-52223, sc-57716, sc-71004? I didn't see kappa light chain in their descriptions.

Asked by: Christian_RTP
Thank you for your question. Yes, this secondary antibody can be used for detection with each of the primary antibodies listed. We confirmed these primary antibodies are all kappa light chain type. This information will be updated in their descriptions on our website.

Can m-IgGκ BP-FITC: sc-516140 be used for western blotting? and if yes how can bands be visualized

Asked by: Yahia
Thank you for your question. Yes, m-IgGκ BP-FITC: sc-516140, can be used for Western blotting as long as you have capabilities to visualize the results. FITC is a fluorochrome and you need to have the ability to see the resulting bands. We do not actually recommend sc-516140 for WB, so I would suggest using a CruzFluor conjugated secondary instead, which can be visualized using for example LiCor. You can find WB recommended secondaries here: https://www.scbt.com/browse/Secondary-Antibodies/_/N-1hoaxk4

Rated 5 out of 5 by from sc-516140 之前试用了很多家抗体,最终选择santa cruz公司的单克隆抗体。在做WB和免疫荧光实验,santa的单抗效果非常好。santa公司每年都有很多单抗小样供试用,非常棒。
