GODZ Antibody (A-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects GODZ protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-GODZ antibody (A-10) is available as the non-conjugated form. The Golgi-specific DHHC (Asp-His-His-Cys) zinc finger protein, also known as Palmitoyltransferase ZDHHC3 or Zinc finger protein 373, is a 327 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in palmitoylation and regulated trafficking of various substrates involved in synaptic function. Localized to the Golgi apparatus membrane, GODZ contains a DHHC-type zinc finger essential for palmitoyltransferase activity, which is vital for proper functioning of both inhibitory and excitatory synapses. GODZ is responsible for palmitoylation of the γ subunit 2 of GABA(A) receptors, a modification critical for maintaining normal synaptic GABAergic inhibitory function. GODZ interacts with glutamate receptors GRIA1 and GRIA2, facilitating their retention within the Golgi apparatus, thereby influencing synaptic plasticity and signaling. Two isoforms of GODZ, resulting from alternative splicing events, further highlight the complexity and regulatory potential in neuronal signaling pathways.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-377378 P appropriate for?

Asked by: DefinitelyNotMatt
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
