Fisetin is a flavone which acts as an inhibitor of Akt, Cdk6, mTOR and PI 3-kinase and an activator of ERK. It has been shown to inhibit melanoma cell growth via its mTOR binding activity.
Soluble in water (partly), ethanol (3 mg/ml) at 25 °C, acetone, acetic acid, solutions of fixed alklai hydroxides, methanol, ether (very slightly), benzene (very slightly), chloroform (very slightly), hexane (very slightly), petroleum ether (very slightly), DMSO (57 mg/ml) at 25 °C, DMF, alcohol, and dilute alcohol/ NaOH showing a dark green fluorescence.
