Evans blue is a potent inhibitor of L-glutamate uptake into synaptic vesicles via EAAT. Evans Blue also inhibits AMPA and kainate receptor-mediated currents (IC50 values are 220 and 150 nM respectively). The compound is also a P2X-selective purinoceptor antagonist. Used as a dye, Evans blue reduces unwanted fluorescence due to the conjugation and auto fluorescence of structural elements in the tissue or cells.

SC-203736 Evans Blue -was this catalog number switched from E2411? are they the same product just an updated numbering system?

Asked by: Deanne
Thank you for your question. We have always used catalog numbers that start with “sc-”. We are not familiar with any product with catalog number E2411. However, E2411 may refer to a previous lot number for this catalog number, sc-203736.
