Elastatinal is a protease inhibitor. Studies have demonstrated that Elastatinal can effectively inhibit phenylmethylsulfonyl fluoride (PMSF, sc-3597) degradation of the H1 histone and high mobility group (HMG) proteins. Elastatinal is an elastase inhibitor and has exhibited the ability to inhibit poliovirus and rhinovirus 2A proteinases in vitro. Additionally, it has no effect on DNA repair and UV-induced sister chromatid exchanges, and inhibits the cleavages found at Ala-Ala bonds in peptides that represent the capsid/nucleocapsid site. Elastatinal is an inhibitor of Neutrophil Elastase.

Can we use Elastatinal (SC-201272) in cell culture to inhibit elastase in cells?

Asked by: RM Vascular
This product has not been specifically tested for cell culture use and is not cell culture grade, however, most products can still be used in cell culture applications by following basic cell culture protocols, e.g. using cell culture grade/sterilized solvents, aseptic technique, and sterilely filtering in a sterile hood.

I want to know if this compound can inhibit the Pseudomonas elastase secrected by Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Pseudomonas elastase is similar to neutrophil elastase and pancreatic elastase.

Asked by: Jian L
Thank you for your question. In the context of this chemical, Elastatinal, unfortunately we were not able to find any relevant literature on Pseudomonas elastase

Any special recommendations for storing stock solutions?

Asked by: chemicalsmg
Thank you for your question. Following reconstitution, aliquot and freeze for long term storage or refrigerate for short term storage. Stock solutions are generally stable for up to 1 week at 4°C or 6 months if kept at -20°C. If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact our Technical Service department by calling 800-457-3801 option 2, emailing [email protected], or using the Live Chat function on our website.
