EDTA, Tetrasodium Tetrahydrate Salt is a chelating agent with wide ranging ability to sequester various polyvalent cations. EDTA is used to minimize metal ion contaminants, and to facilitate enzymatic reactions that could be inhibited by heavy metal traces.
