Can cyclin D2 (DCS-5): sc-53637 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, cyclin D2 (DCS-5): sc-53637 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Specific Western detection in rat INS-1 cells 60 ug loads of rat insulinoma (INS-1) lysates were probed overnight and returned a strong, specific band of ~38 kD. Antibody sc-56305 is also suitable. The attached picture is a triplicate set (identical lanes)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice signal by WB on mouse colon extracts This antibody works perfectly on mouse colon extracts (20 ug) at a 1/200 dilution with regular ECL.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from a relative good antibody for WB This antibody generates a signal at the predicted position on the WB (1:500 dilution, 40ug HeLa extract). However, I would recommend to use sc-376676 for WB.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from not very clean In HeLa, it is a low-affinity antibody. Not very clean, it has many nonspecific larger MW bands which are stronger than the cyclin-D2 band.
