SEE ALSO...

CDKN2AIP Antibody (18.7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CDKN2AIP protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-CDKN2AIP antibody (18.7) is available as the non-conjugated format. CDKN2AIP, also known as CARF, plays a crucial role in regulating the cell cycle by activating the tumor suppressor protein p53 through both p14 ARF-dependent and independent pathways. This activation is vital as p53 is responsible for inducing growth arrest and apoptosis in response to cellular stress, thereby preventing the proliferation of potentially cancerous cells. Expression levels of CDKN2AIP and p53 are inversely related, a relationship maintained by a negative-feedback mechanism involving proteasome-mediated degradation. CDKN2AIP is ubiquitously expressed across various tissues and is localized to the perinucleolar region within the nucleus, where CDKN2AIP interacts directly with MDM2, a key regulator of p53. This interaction not only represses MDM2 transcription but also leads to CDKN2AIP′s degradation via the MDM2-dependent proteasome pathway. Notably, CDKN2AIP contains a double-stranded RNA-binding domain, indicating potential involvement in post-transcriptional gene regulation, which may further influence cellular responses to stress and the overall integrity of the cell cycle.

Can sc-81841: CDKN2AIP (18.7) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: TinTin
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-81841: CDKN2AIP (18.7) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
