May I know which site/ epitope of CD74 that CD74 (2X31): sc70781 recognises/ binds? I am curious about whether this antibody can detect all forms of CD74 (as I created various CD74 mutants).

Asked by: Lynn93
Thank you for the question. This CD74 specific antibody was raised against SU-DHL-4 lymphoma cells. The exact binding epitope has not been determined exactly, yet. If you are working with CD74 mutants you might also want to check other available CD74 antibodies. We offer two antibodies raised against specific peptides/ rec. protein fragments: sc-47742 was raised against aas 12-28 (h) sc-166047 was raised against aas 7-296 (h) https://www.scbt.com/scbt/browse/cd74-Antik%C3%B6rper/_/N-6thh37

Can CD74 (2X31): sc-70781 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: jerojero
Thank you for your question. Yes, CD74 (2X31): sc-70781 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
