Canavanine sulfate is the sulfate preparation of L-canavanine, a non-protein amino acid with structural analogy to L-arginine. L-canavanine is reported to be a selective inhibitor of NOS2 (iNOS) due to its structural mimicry of the native NOS2 substrate L-arginine.
