ASH2L Antibody (2046D2a) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects ASH2L protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). Anti-ASH2L antibody (2046D2a) is available as a non-conjugated monoclonal isotype antibody. ASH2L protein, encoded by the human ASH2L gene, consists of 628 amino acids and is known as ASH2L1, or isoform 1, which features a nuclear localization signal and a PHD finger motif, indicating a role as a transcriptional regulator. ASH2L is involved in gene expression regulation during early development, with a Drosophila homolog, ash2, playing a similar role. ASH2L′s structure, particularly the PHD finger motif, facilitates interactions with histone modifications, influencing chromatin dynamics and gene transcription. Alternative splicing of ASH2L gene results in a shorter isoform, ASH2L2, which lacks the first 94 amino acids of ASH2L1, potentially altering functional properties. ASH2L is predominantly expressed in fetal liver, testis, and specific leukemia cell lines, such as K562, Hel, and Dami, which exhibit erythroid and megakaryocytic potential. ASH2L expression patterns in response to differentiation inducers, such as phorbol ester and hemin, suggest a significant role in hematopoiesis and association with certain types of leukemia, making ASH2L a valuable target for research in cancer biology and developmental processes.
