6-Benzylaminopurine is a plant cell division factor. Stimulates Ca2+ influx (KM = 1 nM) by moss protoplasts. 6-Benzylaminopurine has been reported to induce positive inotropic effects through activation of P2X and P2Y (P2-purinergic receptors). When complexed with copper, catalyzes molecular oxygen dismutation at physiological pH.
