PNU 112455A hydrochloride is a selective and ATP-competitive inhibitor of CDK2/cyclin E (Ki = 2 μM) and CDK5/p35 (p25) (Ki = 2 μM). It binds to the ATP-binding pocket of CDK2 and does not affect the activities of c-met, IGF-1 receptor tyrosine kinase, cAMP-dependent kinase and ERK2 at concentrations as high as 100 μM.
