TEX13A Antibody (A-13) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects TEX13A in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TEX13A, or Testis-expressed sequence 13A, is a 409 amino acid protein specifically expressed in the testis and is one of two human orthologs of the mouse Tex13 protein. TEX13A (A-13) antibody recognizes a protein featuring a RanBP2-type zinc finger domain, which plays a crucial role in nucleocytoplasmic transport, a process essential for proper protein localization and function within the cell. The gene encoding TEX13A is located on chromosome X, indicating potential involvement in pre-meiotic stages of mammalian spermatogenesis. Abnormalities in the chromosomal region containing TEX13A have been linked to azoospermia, a condition marked by complete absence of sperm in male semen, highlighting TEX13A′s importance in male fertility. Chromosome X, spanning nearly 153 million base pairs and containing over 1,000 genes, is critical for sex determination and associated with conditions like Turner′s syndrome and Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
