Syntaxin 5 Antibody (B-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Syntaxin 5 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Syntaxin 5 antibody (B-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Syntaxin 5 plays a crucial role in the vesicular transport system, which is vital for the proper functioning and survival of eukaryotic cells. Syntaxin 5 is primarily located in the cis-Golgi, where Syntaxin 5 facilitates the fusion of vesicles with target membranes, a process essential for the transport of proteins and lipids within the cell. The unique structure of Syntaxin 5, characterized by a short transmembrane domain, ensures localization to the cis-Golgi, allowing interaction with other SNARE proteins to form stable complexes that drive membrane fusion. This interaction is critical for maintaining cellular homeostasis and ensuring proteins are correctly sorted and delivered to their destinations. Syntaxin 5 also associates with p97, which is important for regulating the assembly of the transitional endoplasmic reticulum, further underscoring significance in intracellular transport mechanisms.
