Rictor Antibody (H-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Rictor protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Rictor (H-11) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Rictor, also known as rapamycin-insensitive companion of FRAP, is a critical component of mTOR signaling pathway, which regulates cell growth, proliferation, and survival in response to nutrients and growth factors. Rictor′s ability to form a complex with FRAP is essential for integrating these signals, and Rictor plays a pivotal role in phosphorylation of Akt/PKB, a key player in cell survival and metabolism. Notably, Rictor directly phosphorylates Akt/PKB on Ser473, which is crucial for full activation, and Rictor also facilitates Thr308 phosphorylation by PDK1. This regulatory mechanism is particularly important in cancer context, as Rictor-FRAP complex may serve as a potential drug target in tumors that have lost expression of PTEN, a tumor suppressor that normally inhibits Akt/PKB activation.
