RECA-1 Antibody (6A541) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects RECA-1 in mouse and rat samples through immunofluorescence (IF) applications. RECA-1, also known as rat endothelial cell antigen-1, is a critical cell surface antigen expressed by all rat endothelial cells, playing a vital role in the vascular system. RECA-1 is primarily located on the surface of endothelial cells, which line the interior of blood vessels, forming a crucial barrier between circulating blood and surrounding tissues. This localization is essential for maintaining vascular integrity and regulating the exchange of substances between the bloodstream and tissues, including the selective passage of nutrients and immune cells. RECA-1 is involved in various physiological processes such as blood clotting, inflammation, and the maintenance of vascular homeostasis. RECA-1 expression is particularly important in specialized endothelial structures, such as the blood-brain barrier, where RECA-1 contributes to the unique filtering functions necessary for protecting the central nervous system. Anti-RECA-1 antibody (6A541) enables valuable insights into endothelial cell biology and the mechanisms underlying vascular health and disease.
