NIPP1 Antibody (B-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects NIPP1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NIPP1, or nuclear inhibitor of protein phosphatase 1, plays a crucial role in regulating various cellular processes, including pre-mRNA splicing and cell proliferation, making NIPP1 an important target for research in cell biology and cancer studies. NIPP1 features a forkhead-associated (FHA) domain, which is significant for interactions with protein kinases and transcription factors, thereby influencing gene expression and cellular signaling pathways. NIPP1 is encoded by a locus that produces three isoforms—α, β, and γ—through alternative splicing, each exhibiting distinct RNA binding activities and phosphatase inhibition capabilities. Notably, the γ isoform functions as a magnesium-dependent endoribonuclease, responsible for cleaving RNA strands, and is predominantly expressed in B cells and T lymphocytes, highlighting NIPP1′s importance in immune responses. In contrast, the α and β isoforms are primarily localized in the brain and kidney, indicating potential roles in neurological and renal functions. NIPP1 activity is regulated by phosphorylation at specific serine residues, Ser 199 and Ser 204, which can lead to inactivation. Additionally, NIPP1 interacts with several key proteins, including CDc5L, SAP 155, MELK, and EED, underscoring NIPP1′s involvement in complex cellular networks.
