SEE ALSO...

Mucin 2 Antibody (Ccp58) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Mucin 2 in mouse, rat, and human samples through immunofluorescence (IF) and immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP). Anti-Mucin 2 antibody (Ccp58) is available in both conjugated and non-conjugated forms, providing flexibility for various experimental needs. Mucin 2 plays a crucial role in forming protective mucus layers in the gastrointestinal tract and respiratory system, essential for maintaining epithelial integrity and facilitating pathogen and debris clearance. Mucin 2 is primarily secreted by goblet cells and forms a key component of the mucus gel coating intestinal and airway epithelia, contributing to barrier function and immune defense. Dysregulation of Mucin 2 expression has been linked to various pathologies, including colonic tumors, highlighting its importance in both normal physiology and disease states. Mucin 2′s unique structure, characterized by extensive glycosylation and variable number of tandem repeats, allows interactions with various proteins and molecules, underscoring its significance in cellular signaling and tissue homeostasis.
