KIF12 Antibody (C-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects KIF12 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). KIF12 Antibody (C-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Kinesin family member 12 (KIF12) is a crucial cytoskeletal motor protein that plays a significant role in mitotically linked cytokinesis, ensuring proper cell division. This 651-amino-acid protein is essential for the localization of myosin II during mitosis and is involved in the critical processes of nuclear separation during late anaphase and telophase. KIF12 features a kinesin motor domain, a coiled-coil domain with an internal hinge region, and a C-terminal tail domain, which are vital for its function and interaction with microtubules. KIF12 mRNA expression is notably found in fetal liver, adult brain, pancreatic islets, and is associated with various cancers, including kidney tumors and uterine and pancreatic cancers. KIF12′s ability to transport important cellular components, such as organelles and protein complexes, underscores its significance in maintaining cellular organization and function, particularly in neuronal development and function.
