Headpin Antibody (A-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Headpin in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Headpin, also known as hurpin or serpinB13, is a skin-specific serine proteinase inhibitor that plays a crucial role in regulating proteolytic activity in the epidermis, which is essential for maintaining skin homeostasis and protecting against environmental stressors, including UV radiation. Headpin′s function is underscored by abundant expression in human keratinocyte cell lines, such as HaCaT, and presence in lesional keratinocytes from psoriatic skin, where Headpin may contribute to the pathophysiology of skin disorders. Notably, downregulation of Headpin has been observed in squamous cell carcinoma of the oral cavity and in squamous cell carcinoma cell lines from the head and neck, indicating Headpin′s potential role as a biomarker for cancer progression and a target for therapeutic intervention. With versatile applications and significant biological relevance, anti-Headpin antibody (A-5) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers investigating skin biology and related diseases.
