HCAM Antibody (IM7) is a rat monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects HCAM in mouse, rat, human, canine, feline, and equine samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM). Anti-HCAM antibody (IM7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. HCAM, also known as CD44, is a 742 amino acid single-pass type I membrane protein that plays a crucial role in cell adhesion and migration, functioning as a receptor for hyaluronic acid (HA) and interacting with ligands such as osteopontin (OPN). This interaction mediates cell-cell and cell-matrix connections, essential during processes like hematopoiesis, lymphocyte activation, and tumor metastasis. HCAM′s structure includes a Link domain and undergoes alternative splicing, resulting in multiple isoforms, including CD44R, CDw44, CD44S, CD44H (hematopoietic), and CD44E (epithelial). CD44H isoform shows high expression in cancer tissues, indicating a significant role in tumor progression and highlighting HCAM′s importance in both normal physiological processes and pathological conditions.
