H2-I/A Antibody (NIMR-4) is a rat monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects the non-polymorphic I-A-encoded epitope on MHC class II antigens of mouse origin by immunofluorescence (IF) and flow cytometry (FCM). Anti-H2-I/A antibody (NIMR-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class II molecules, which include the target of H2-I/A (NIMR-4) monoclonal antibody, play a crucial role in the immune response by presenting processed exogenous antigens to helper T lymphocytes. These molecules are primarily located on the surface of antigen-presenting cells, such as B cells and dendritic cells, where they facilitate the activation of T cells. The ability of MHC class II molecules to bind and present longer peptides, typically ranging from 13 to 18 amino acids, is essential for the effective recognition of a diverse array of antigens, thereby influencing the adaptive immune response. The interaction between MHC class II molecules and T cell receptors is vital for the initiation of immune responses, making the study of these proteins and their interactions critical for understanding immune system function and developing immunotherapies.

How can H2-I/A (NIMR-4): sc-52548 mouse monoclonal antibody be used for double or triple staining, if the other primary antibodies are also raised in mouse?

Asked by: Germaine
In this case, we recommend using a directly conjugated mouse monoclonal primary antibody. This antibody is available conjugated to phycoerythrin (sc-52548 PE) or fluoroscein (sc-52548 FITC).
