Cytokeratin 13 Antibody (AE8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Cytokeratin 13 in mouse, rat, human, and rabbit samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Cytokeratin 13 is a vital component of the intermediate filament family, forming a heterotetramer with two type I acidic and two type II basic keratins, and is typically associated with Cytokeratin 4. Cytokeratin 13 is predominantly located in the cytoskeletal region of epithelial cells, where Cytokeratin 13 plays a crucial role in maintaining cellular structure and integrity, particularly in non-keratinized stratified squamous epithelia.
