Cdc25A Antibody (DCS 121) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects Cdc25A in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Cdc25A plays a crucial role in the regulation of the cell cycle, particularly in the transition from G2 phase to mitosis, by acting as a phosphatase that dephosphorylates and activates cyclin-dependent kinases (CDKs). This activation is essential for the proper progression of mitosis, as cells move forward in the cycle and divide. Dysregulation of Cdc25A can lead to uncontrolled cell proliferation and is often implicated in various cancers, making Cdc25A a significant target for therapeutic intervention. Cdc25A is primarily located in the nucleus, where this phosphatase is involved in the regulation of mitotic entry, and nuclear localization is critical for function; any aberration in nuclear localization can disrupt the cell cycle and contribute to tumorigenesis. Cdc25A undergoes various post-translational modifications, including phosphorylation and ubiquitination, which can influence activity and stability, further underscoring Cdc25A′s importance in cell cycle regulation. anti-Cdc25A antibody (DCS 121) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying cell cycle dynamics and the molecular mechanisms underlying cell division and cancer.
