AP-2α Antibody (B-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects AP-2α in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). AP-2α is a crucial member of the AP-2 transcription factor family, which also includes AP-2β and AP-2γ, and binds to the DNA consensus sequence CCCCAGGC to initiate transcription of specific genes. AP-2α (B-11) antibody recognizes a protein particularly important in regulating gene expression related to developmental processes and oncogenesis, as AP-2α is involved in the upregulation of the proto-oncogene c-ErbB-2, which is overexpressed in a significant percentage of breast cancers.
