cystatin A Antibody (B-11) is an IgG1 κ mouse monoclonal cystatin A antibody (also designated CSTA antibody or Stefin-A antibody) suitable for the detection of the cystatin A protein of human origin by WB, IP, IF, IHC(P) and ELISA. cystatin A Antibody (B-11) is available as both the non-conjugated anti-cystatin A antibody form, as well as multiple conjugated forms of anti-cystatin A antibody, including agarose, HRP, PE, FITC and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Cystatin A (also designated STF1, STFA, stefin A or cystatin AS) and cystatin B (also designated PME, CST6, STFB, CPI-B, stefin B and liver thiol proteinase inhibitor) are thiol protease inhibitors that form complexes with papain and the cathepsins B, H, and L. Cystatin A, a cytoplasmic protein, is one of the precursor proteins of the cornified cell envelope in keratinocytes and plays a role in epidermal development and maintenance. Cystatin B protects against intracellular proteases leaking out of lysosomes and is primarily expressed in heart, liver and kidney.

Santa Cruz Biotechnology antibodies have over 360,000 research citations. Anti-cystatin A Antibody (B-11) has 2 citations in a variety of scientific publications.
Primary antibodies like Anti-cystatin A Antibody (B-11) for mammalian target proteins are recommended for the detection of a range of mammalian species, primarily of mouse, rat and human species. Many mammalian antibodies are also ideal for veterinary research and reactive with ovine, porcine, caprine, feline, canine, bovine and equine protein targets. Santa Cruz Biotechnology primary monoclonal antibodies are suitable for laboratory research applications and are not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic use.
I am using cystatin A (B-11): sc-376759 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?
Preguntado por: Randy McDonald
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here:
