BpV(bipy) trihydrate is a potent inhibitor of PTP (phosphotyrosine phosphatase, Ki = 100 nM for insulin receptor dephosphorylation). BpV(bipy) trihydrate is an activator of insulin receptor kinase (IRK) and a potent inhibitor of PTEN (phosphatidylinositol-3,4,5-trisphosphate 3-phosphatase, IC50 = 18 nM).
