Ob-R Antibody (B-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that specifically targets an epitope between amino acids 870-894 of the short form of the leptin receptor (Ob-R) of mouse origin. Ob-R monoclonal antibody (B-3) detects both the short and long forms of Ob-R, also known as LEPR or CD295, in species including mouse, rat, human, and canine, making Ob-R (B-3) antibody suitable for applications like western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The Ob-R leptin receptor is a member of the class I cytokine receptor family and structurally resembles the gp130 signal-transducing component of the IL-6 receptor complex. Ob-R plays a critical role in regulating body weight, energy balance, and neuroendocrine functions by mediating the effects of leptin, a hormone produced by adipose tissue that suppresses appetite and promotes energy expenditure. Predominantly expressed in the hypothalamus and choroid plexus, Ob-R is pivotal in signaling pathways that control food intake and body weight homeostasis. Dysregulation or mutations in the leptin receptor can lead to obesity and metabolic disorders, including type II diabetes, making Ob-R a significant target for research in metabolic regulation and energy homeostasis. Ob-R monoclonal antibody (B-3) facilitates advanced studies on leptin signaling pathways and their implications in metabolic and neuroendocrine functions.
