Oct-1 Antibody (12F11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Oct-1 protein of mouse, rat, human, and Xenopus laevis origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Oct-1 (12F11) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Oct-1, also known as POU class 2 homeobox 1, plays a crucial role in regulating gene expression, particularly in tissue-specific transcription. Oct-1 contains a bipartite DNA binding domain that interacts with specific DNA sequences, known as octamer motifs, which are vital for the transcription of various genes, including those involved in immune responses. Oct-1′s ability to form dimers on the palindromic Oct factor-recognition element enhances regulatory capacity, enabling the recruitment of transcriptional co-activators like OBF1. This interaction is essential for the precise control of gene expression in different cell types, highlighting Oct-1′s importance in maintaining cellular identity and function. Oct-1 gene encodes a single protein, NF-A1, which is ubiquitously expressed across various cell types, distinguishing Oct-1 from other POU proteins that may have more restricted expression patterns.
