Annexin II Antibody (C-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody raised against amino acids 1–50 of human Annexin II, also known as Annexin A2, Calpactin-2, Chromobindin-8, Lipocortin II, p36, and Placental Anticoagulant Protein IV. Anti-Annexin II antibody (C-10) detects Annexin II proteins from human, mouse, and rat origins using techniques such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Annexin II is a calcium-dependent phospholipid-binding protein involved in diverse cellular processes like membrane trafficking, cell motility, and cellular adhesion. Annexin II plays a critical role in fibrinolysis by acting as a receptor for tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) and plasminogen, facilitating the conversion of plasminogen to plasmin, and thus is important in maintaining normal blood coagulation and inflammatory responses. Annexin II can exist as a monomer or form a heterotetramer complex with S100A10 (p11), known as calpactin I, which is significant in various signal transduction pathways. In its tetrameric form, Annexin II is an efficient substrate for protein kinase C (PKC) and Src family kinases, indicating its role in phosphorylation-dependent signaling mechanisms.
