Tenascin-C Antibody (E-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Tenascin-C protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Tenascin-C antibody (E-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Tenascin-C, a member of the tenascin family of extracellular matrix proteins, plays a crucial role in cellular adhesion and migration, which are vital processes during development and tissue repair. Tenascin-C is primarily located in the extracellular matrix, where Tenascin-C influences cell behavior by interacting with integrins and other cell surface receptors, thereby modulating cellular responses to environmental cues. Tenascin-C expression is particularly important in tissues undergoing remodeling, such as during wound healing and tumor progression, as Tenascin-C helps regulate the balance between cell adhesion and migration. Tenascin-C′s structure, characterized by multiple EGF-like and fibronectin type-III domains, allows for formation of large hexameric complexes that create a scaffold for cell attachment and migration, further emphasizing Tenascin-C′s significance in developmental processes and tissue homeostasis.
