MDM2 Antibody (SMP14) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody raised against amino acids 154-167 of the human MDM2 protein. Anti-MDM2 monoclonal antibody (SMP14) exhibits cross-reactivity with mouse, rat, and human MDM2, making MDM2 (SMP14) antibody suitable for applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry on paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP). MDM2, also known as murine double minute 2, is an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase that plays a crucial role in regulating the p53 tumor suppressor protein. By binding to p53, MDM2 inhibits its transcriptional activity and promotes its degradation via the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway, thereby maintaining low p53 levels under normal conditions.
