Adenosine deaminase Antibody (D-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects adenosine deaminase of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-adenosine deaminase antibody (D-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Adenosine deaminase plays a crucial role in the purine salvage pathway by catalyzing the deamination of adenosine to inosine, which is vital for regulating extracellular adenosine levels. Elevated adenosine can be toxic to lymphocytes, and thus, adenosine deaminase activity is essential for maintaining immune homeostasis. Additionally, adenosine deaminase interacts with CD26, influencing co-stimulatory signals in T cells, which is critical for effective immune responses. A deficiency in adenosine deaminase can lead to severe immunodeficiency diseases, such as severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID), and has been linked to hereditary hemolytic anemia, where adenosine deaminase levels can increase dramatically.
