PECAM-1 Antibody (MEC 13.3) is a rat monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects PECAM-1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). PECAM-1, also known as CD31, is a crucial glycoprotein that plays a significant role in mediating cell-cell adhesion, particularly in the vascular system, where PECAM-1 is predominantly expressed on the surfaces of endothelial cells, platelets, and certain leukocytes. PECAM-1 is essential for maintaining vascular integrity and facilitating leukocyte transmigration during inflammatory responses, making PECAM-1 a key player in both immune function and tissue homeostasis. PECAM-1 is also involved in angiogenesis, the process of new blood vessel formation, which is vital for wound healing and tissue repair. Anti-PECAM-1 antibody (MEC 13.3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates, providing versatility for different experimental needs. By utilizing PECAM-1 monoclonal antibody (MEC 13.3), researchers can gain insights into the dynamics of cell adhesion and migration, which are critical for understanding various physiological and pathological processes, including cancer metastasis and cardiovascular diseases.
