YB-1 Antibody (59-Q) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects YB-1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). YB-1 (59-Q) antibody is available in a non-conjugated form, providing flexibility for various experimental needs. Y-box binding protein YB-1, also known as CCAAT-binding transcription factor, enhancer factor I subunit A, and DNA-binding protein B, is a multifunctional protein that plays a crucial role in regulating both transcription and translation. YB-1 interacts with diverse nucleic acid structures, functioning as a transcription factor and mRNA masking protein. YB-1′s modular structure, which includes a highly conserved N-terminal cold-shock domain and four basic C-terminal domains rich in Arginine clusters and aromatic residues, is essential for multifunctionality. This structural complexity allows YB-1 to modulate gene expression effectively, influencing cell proliferation by activating growth-associated genes while simultaneously repressing cell death-associated genes such as FAS. By regulating the balance between cell growth and apoptosis, YB-1 plays a pivotal role in maintaining cellular homeostasis and may be a critical factor in cancer biology, making YB-1 an important target for research in cell survival mechanisms.
