Datasheets
  • p-beta-catenin Antibody (BC-22) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b κ p-beta-catenin antibody, cited in 31 publications, provided at 50 µg/0.5 ml
  • raised against amino acids Ser 33/37 of β-catenin of human origin
  • recommended for detection of Ser 33/Ser 37 phosphorylated β-catenin of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP and IF; not recommended for detection of the unphosphorylated or the Ser33 phosphorylated protein or phosphorylated plakoglobin (despite the high homology in the phosphorylation site with β-catenin)
  • m-IgG Fc BP-HRP and m-IgG2b BP-HRP are the preferred secondary detection reagents for p-beta-catenin Antibody (BC-22) for WB applications. These reagents are now offered in bundles with p-beta-catenin Antibody (BC-22) (see ordering information below).

p-β-catenin Antibody (BC-22) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects p-β-catenin protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). anti-p-β-catenin antibody (BC-22) is available as a non-conjugated format. p-β-catenin protein, also known as beta-Catenin or CTNNB1, plays a pivotal role in the Wnt signaling pathway, which regulates cell proliferation, differentiation, and migration. p-β-catenin protein maintains cellular adhesion and tissue integrity by interacting with E-cadherin to form catenin/cadherin complexes that mediate cell-cell adhesion. Dysregulation of p-β-catenin protein can lead to aberrant signaling and has been implicated in various cancers, including colorectal and breast cancer. p-β-catenin protein localizes primarily in the cytoplasm and nucleus, where p-β-catenin protein acts as a transcriptional co-activator for Wnt target genes. Nuclear translocation of p-β-catenin protein is tightly regulated, and nuclear accumulation can result from post-translational modifications, such as phosphorylation by glycogen synthase kinase-3β. These modifications influence p-β-catenin protein stability and interactions with other proteins, including tumor suppressor APC and regulator Pin1, which can further modulate signaling pathways. Understanding p-β-catenin protein localization and function is vital for elucidating roles in oncogenesis and developing targeted therapies.
