NFATc1 Antibody (7A6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody raised against amino acids 197-304 of human NFATc1, also known as NFAT2 or nuclear factor of activated T cells 1. NFATc1 is a member of the NFAT family of transcription factors that play a crucial role in regulating gene expression during immune responses. Upon activation by increased intracellular calcium levels, NFATc1 is dephosphorylated by the phosphatase calcineurin, leading to its translocation from the cytoplasm to the nucleus. In the nucleus, NFATc1 forms complexes with AP-1 proteins such as Fos and Jun to bind specific DNA sequences, promoting the transcription of cytokine genes in T cells. This function is essential for T-cell activation, differentiation, and the overall immune response. Additionally, NFATc1 is involved in cardiac development and function, as well as in osteoclast differentiation affecting bone resorption. Dysregulation of NFATc1 activity has been implicated in various pathological conditions, including autoimmune diseases and cardiac hypertrophy. NFATc1 monoclonal antibody (7A6) reacts with mouse, rat, and human NFATc1 and is suitable for western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry (IHC) on paraffin-embedded sections, and flow cytometry. By targeting NFATc1, this research tool enables studies of immune regulation, T-cell function, and related cellular processes.
