Coilin Antibody (F-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects coilin in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-coilin antibody (F-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Coilin is a crucial protein located primarily in the nucleus, specifically within Cajal bodies, which are small nuclear organelles essential for RNA transcription and processing. The presence of coilin in these organelles is vital for their formation and function, as coilin facilitates the recruitment of small nuclear ribonucleoproteins (snRNPs) and survival motor neuron (SMN) complex proteins, which are critical for RNA splicing and gene regulation. Coilin′s ability to self-associate and nucleolar localization signal underscore coilin′s importance in maintaining the structural integrity of Cajal bodies. Additionally, the C-terminus of coilin plays a regulatory role in determining the number of Cajal bodies within the cell, highlighting coilin′s significance in cellular organization and function.
