SEE ALSO...

Lamin B1 Antibody (A-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Lamin B1 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Lamin B1 antibody (A-11) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Lamin B1, a 586 amino acid protein encoded by the LMNB1 gene, plays a crucial role in maintaining nuclear envelope structural integrity and cellular morphology as a key component of the nuclear lamina, a fibrous layer on the nucleoplasmic side of the inner nuclear membrane. This structural framework provides stability to the nuclear envelope and may facilitate interactions with chromatin, influencing gene expression and cellular function. Mutations in the LMNB1 gene have been linked to autosomal dominant adult-onset leukodystrophy (ADLD), a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by cerebellar dysfunction and demyelination of the central nervous system, highlighting Lamin B1′s significance in cellular health and disease.
