SEE ALSO...

CD8-β Antibody (5F2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects CD8 in human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM). CD8 is a crucial cell surface glycoprotein that forms a heterodimeric complex, typically composed of either two alpha chains or an alpha and a beta chain, and plays a vital role in the immune response by binding to class I major histocompatibility complex (MHC) molecules presented by antigen-presenting cells. This interaction is essential for the activation and differentiation of T cytotoxic cells, which are responsible for directly killing infected or cancerous cells. The presence of CD8 on T cells not only enhances the recognition of antigens by the T cell receptor (TCR) but also contributes to the overall strength and specificity of the immune response. Furthermore, CD8-expressing T cells have been implicated in maintaining low levels of HIV expression, highlighting their importance in both adaptive immunity and viral control. CD8-β (5F2) antibody is an invaluable tool for researchers studying T cell biology and immune responses.
