SEE ALSO...

SA-2 Antibody (J-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SA-2 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SA-2 (J-12) antibody is available in a non-conjugated form, providing flexibility for various experimental needs. SA-2, also known as STAG2, is a crucial 1,231 amino acid component of the cohesion complex, which plays a vital role in ensuring proper segregation of sister chromatids during cell division. SA-2 is localized in the nucleus, where SA-2 associates with chromatin and maintains genomic stability. Upon phosphorylation by polo-like kinase (Plk), SA-2 dissociates from chromatin, facilitating correct separation of chromosomes during anaphase. SA-2 has been shown to enhance tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNFα) activity, suggesting a potential role as a transcriptional regulator, which may have implications in cancer biology and therapeutic strategies. SA-2′s interaction with Rad21 and other components of the cohesion complex underscores SA-2′s importance in cell cycle regulation and chromosomal integrity.
