Histone H1 Antibody (AE-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Histone H1 across a broad range of species by applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry (IHCP), flow cytometry (FCM), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Histone H1 (AE-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase, phycoerythrin, fluorescein isothiocyanate, and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Histone H1 plays a crucial role in the structural organization of chromatin, binding to linker DNA between nucleosomes, facilitating DNA compaction into higher-order structures essential for proper gene regulation and cellular function. Histone H1 is primarily located in the nucleus, contributing to chromatin fiber formation, thereby influencing processes such as DNA replication, repair, and transcription. Histone H1 is vital for maintaining chromatin integrity and regulating access to genetic material, critical for cellular processes and overall organismal development. Histone H1 undergoes various post-translational modifications that can alter DNA and protein interactions, further emphasizing significance in cellular dynamics and gene expression regulation.
